I’m a multi-skilled, ideas-led Graphic Designer, Website Designer & Creative Director based in Leicestershire.
Background
I started my career as a chef, undertaking a professional cookery qualification for one year and then continuing as a full time chef for a further two years. After I had gained vital experience in the working world, I got my big break in the Graphic Design industry with a small agency based in Leicestershire. This is where I studied and acquired a Level 3 NVQ in Art & Design, as well as completing a Diploma in Design. I have since worked as a full time graphic designer and website designer for various agencies.
Experience
I worked as an Apprentice Graphic Designer at Mulberry Square Ltd (an award winning, independent multi-disciplined marketing services agency) for 2 years, completing a Level 3 NVQ and Level 3 Diploma. I was then a full time Graphic Designer for a further 2 years. Mulberry Square Ltd then Merged with a specialist web development company to form GoGo Marketing and Advertising Ltd.
Clients
Most recently I’ve been working on Print Design, Digital and Online Advertising for a local author (Siobhian R. Hodges) publishing her debut Young Adult Supernatural Thriller ‘Killing a Dead Man’. I have also produced work for a variety of new startups and large businesses all year round that, with the help of my brand identity design work, are currently securing contracts with major distributors and investors.
Why I do it
Each project I work on is an opportunity to do some amazing work that connects businesses with their audiences. I follow a strategic approach; identify your brand’s strengths and weaknesses, get to know your company culture and research your audience, competition, and the current market. I then explore intelligent and meaningful graphic design concepts that bridge the gap between your business and your consumer.
Skills
Over the past 6 years I’ve been a full time Graphic Designer and a Web designer for Leicestershire based agencies. This has vastly developed my skill-set. I’ve designed, developed and production managed many projects including: branding, logo design, packaging design and website design projects. I’ve worked under direction, and have directed others inturn. I know how to make a project run smoothly, from concept to launch.
